Retell story in time order. 3. Practice students’ ability to share the story. Step 1 Greeting and show the Learning goals. Step 2 Free talk and lead in. 1. Ask Ss to talk about books they have read. A: Have you read…? B: Yes, I have. A: what’s it about? B: It’s about…. A: what do you think of it? B: I think it’s…. 2. Watch a video about giving up. Show a video about giving up, and let students give some information about the video. Step 3 Pre-reading T: Have your read the book Robinson Crusoe? Ss: Yes. T: Good! Let’s look at the picture together. Who are the two men in the picture? Ss: The are Robinson Crusoe and Friday. T: Great! Now, let’s read the passage together. Step4 While- reading 1. Fast reading: Read the passage for the first time. Underline the new words for you. Guess the meanings of them, you can discuss them with you partner. Careful reading: Read the passage carefully, find the answers for the two questions in the box. 3. Watch a video ,read paragraph 1 and answer: What things has Robinson brought? What things has Robinson done? 4. Watch a video and Read paragraph 2 and answer: What do you think of Robinson? How do you know it? Read the sentences you like. Step 5 After-reading Look at the sentences in 3c. Let Ss read again carefully and correct them.Don’t look abck the passage. Give them two minutes to correct the sentences. Aftert that, check the answers together. Step 6 Post-reading After reading the passage so many times, I’m sure you have had a good understanding of what it’s about. Now try to retell the passage in your own words. Step 7 Summary Play a short piece of film Robinson Crusoe for Ss. In this period, we read a short passage based on Robinson Crusoe and developed our reading skill. Through the passage, we learnt much from Robinson Crusoe. He is brave. He is clever. He has a strong survival ability. Step 8 Homework 1. Review the key phrases and other useful expressions. 2. Recite the passage. 3.
