一、Background information
1. Lesson type: a grammar lesson which is about the present continuous passive voice. 2. Students: Senior One students 3. Lesson duration: 45mins
二、 Analysis of the teaching material 1. Text analysis:
This lesson is the third section of unit4 wildlife protection from Book 2 of New Senior English for China published by People's Education Press. The teaching content is the structure and the use of present continuous passive voice. 2. Teaching objective: (1) Knowledge objective
After learning the structure, the most students will be able to analyze the main features of the present continuous passive voice. (2)Ability objective
After the functional practice, the most students will be able to describe something by using the present continuous passive voice in their daily life. (3)Emotion objective
After the class, the most students will increase their interest in grammar learning and know the importance of wildlife protection. 3. Main teaching point and difficult point:
(1) Main point: The structure and use of the present continuous passive voice, be + being + done

(2) Difficult point: the third use of the present continuous passive voice, that is: few passive voice of transitive verbs' present continuous tense indicate the meaning of future.
4. Teaching aids: books, ppt, multimedia, blackboard and chalks 三、 Analysis of the students
The senior students have had a certain degree of logical thinking ability; also have known the use of present multimedia tense and passive voice. This lesson will enable students to know their combination. Most of them are not good at learning grammar. I hope the situation can be improved in this class. 四、 Teaching & learning methods 1. Teaching methods:
Communicative teaching method; audio-visual method
Basis: It is very important to have a good environment of study, and the aim of learning is to communicate. 2. Learning methods:
Communicative strategy: Teacher would play the flash of wild lives that are being destroyed, from which students would think of the actuality and answer some questions. They would fully exert their imagination and creativity to say.
Resource strategy: Finally, teacher would give them several websites on \"how to protect wild lives\" so that students would know more about it. Moreover, teaching and learning could combine with each other perfectly. 五、 Teaching procedures
Step 1: Presentation (20mins) A. Warming-up (7mins) (1) I will show three pictures.
(2) Students describe these pictures according to the questions in the present multimedia tense.
The three questions and their answers:
a. What is the headmaster doing? ——The headmaster is giving a speech on the playground.
b. What are the children doing? ——The children are playing a game.

c. What are they doing? ——They are performing a program.
(3) Students change these sentences into passive voice with my guidance. a. A speech is being given by the headmaster on the playground b. A game is being played by the children. c. A program is being performed by them.
(4) Teacher summarizes the process, and shows it by ppt. 主动语态变被动语态 ①原句主语变为by短语 ②宾语变为主语 ③谓语由主动变为被动
The purpose is not only to review the knowledge they have learned in their middle schools but also to arise their interest. B.A drill(7mins)
(1) Students change the active voice into the passive voice. a. They are singing a song. → A song is being sung by them. b. They are holding a wedding. → A wedding is being held.
(2) Students make two sentences with the verbs given in the passive voice according to the two pictures.
a. A flower is being sent to his teacher by the little boy. b. The mother is being waited for by her daughter.
The purpose is to let students know the structure of present continuous passive voice through their initiative finding.
C. The use of present continuous passive voice (5mins) (1) I show some pictures and sentences which describe them. a. Mary is being interviewed now. My car is being repaired now.
b. The disease is being studied at present by scientists. The life of the panda is being studied at present.
c. Some classical music is being played by them next. 下面将由他们演奏一些古典音乐。
A party is being held tonight. 今晚将要举办一场晚会。

(2)I summarize these three uses of this voice. 1.表示现在正在进行的被动动作。
2.表现阶段正在进行的被动动作,表现阶段意义。
3.少数及物动词的进行时表示按计划、安排将要承受某个动作。表将来时的意义。 The purpose is to let students know the use of this voice through my presentation. Step 2. Production (10mins)
A. I will ask a question and let students think about it. The question: Why should we protect the wildlife and environment?
B. Students watch a video whose name is wild animals' lamentation.
C. Students answer the question in groups by using the present continuous passive voice.
I would show some helpful words and phrases like these: Why should we protect the wildlife and the environment? eg: Because water is being polluted.
What's happening to the trees/the soil/the air/the fish/…?
The purpose of my design: most students can take part in the activity and use the voice better. They can exert their imagination by using communicative strategy and attract their awareness to protect animals. Step 3. Practice (15mins) A. Choose the right answer. (6mins)
I will give four choice questions. Three of them are not to use the present continuous passive voice.

The purpose is to make students know the differences between this voice and other voices clearly and grasp the third use of this voice through the third question. C. Correct the sentences. (4mins)
I will give four wrong sentences. Students should correct them according to the use of this voice.
1. Look! A frog is swallowed by a snake over there.
2. These animals are hunting at such a speed that they will disappear soon. 3. Will you go with me to see the film that is shown tonight? 4. A beautiful song is being listened .
The purpose is to check students' learning effects and let students grasp the skills of correcting sentences. Step 4: Homework
