Hello, everyone, I am lu Xin.

Before our meal, I want to introduce something about Chinese cuisine.

I think, most of you may already know some typical Chinese foods. Now I just want to explain the food at the aspect of Chinese people. P2

There are four parts of my presentation. Fist part is a brief introduce of different styles of Chinese cuisine. Second, I will show you some famous dishes, of course they are also what I like eating. Third part is the combination of Chinese food and Chinese spirit, which is the most important meaning for Chinese people. At last the menu of today evening will be showed. P3

Lets have a look at the map first. In accordance of regions, the Chinese cuisine is differed into many styles, the core of which are eight styles. It is complex to explain the styles. So for simplicity, i only tell you the different tastes of food in different regions. (中部use salt,东南sweet,西南spicy and hot,南light and mild because the original taste of seefood is better than any other spices,东北没有不喜欢吃的 ) P4

This a map of food, at least 61 kinds of dishes, difficult to translate them all. Fllowing are a lot of pictures of food. 1. Double cooked pork slices 2. Cold noodle 3. Peking duck 4. Steamed mutton 5. Hot pot 6. Spicy boiled fish

7. Maos Pork: Because Chairman Mao Zedong likes this dish and it is also a traditional food of Maos hometown, so we call it Maos Pork

8. Earthenware pot soup

9. Stewed chicken with three cup sauce: it is a traditional food of Jiangxi Province. Because of wars of last century in China, many people of Jiangxi Province go to Taiwan Province to avoid the wars and they also bring this food to Taiwan and it becomes famous there. So we also call it Taiwan three cup chicken. 10. Xinjiang market chicken: sometimes we also put noodles in this dish.

Rice Noodles: we can notice there is a lot of cooking oil.

In ancient China, there was still no machines to keep food warm. Food becomes cold very fast and we mind that always eating cold food can make people sick. The story is coming, the wife of a hardworking man, who always forgets to eat food, when its is still warm. Gradually the man becomes unhealthy, which makes his wife very upset and worries about her husband so much. Finally, she finds a good idea, the cooking oil, which is hard to become cold. So she put a lot of hot oil into noodles, in order to keep the noodles warm for a long time. This is the love between couples.

The second dish: It is an easily cooked and delicious dish, a little sweet and sour, every children like this taste. With this dish, they will eat more. We refer the taste of this dish as Mamas taste. When we are homesick, when we find life is so hard, just cook this dish and feel the taste of mama, it is just like kind of support or motivation, then we have the courage again to face all challenges. Dumpling: Fillings inside, skin outside

Without the wrapper (skin), the filings will break into pieces, become chaos and scattered. But with the power of skin, the two parts become a whole. With only one chopstick, I can fast eat nothing. But with two, It is easy to pick up the food. We can break one chopstick easily, but a bundle of chopsticks, very very hard. So the aim of eating dumplings with chopsticks, especially in the night of spring festival, is to remind us the importance of reunion, the power of solidarity, the love and the spirit

among us.
